The Sampson Community College library has created new sections including rare books, a North Carolina Collection, and a Local History about Sampson County Collection. The rare books consist of donated books, such as The Divine Comedy, that date back to as early as 1895. The collection also includes an edition of To Kill a Mockingbird, from within a year of its original publishing date, along with Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales and local Slave Narratives from Sampson County. The North Carolina Collection is available for check-out, while the Local History and rare books are for in-library use only.
The library would also like to host a #whereinSampson display of black and white photos of Sampson County. Small towns, farming pictures, and family pictures from all over Sampson County are greatly appreciated. These images will be added to the local history archives. Help us to celebrate our heritage by scanning, emailing, or delivering the photos for scanning to the SCC library.
