Scary Sights at SCC

The Sampson Community College Student Government Association offered up a few scares at its annual Halloween Costume on campus. Students, faculty and staff were all invited to attend the event, held in the Warren Student Center at SCC.

“This is always a fun event,” says Amanda Raynor, SGA Advisor at the college. “We always see a wide variety of creative costumes and this year was no different. It’s just one of the many things we have fun with and celebrate here. Our goal in many ways as the SGA is to bring the student body together like a family and we enjoy some laughs along the way.”

First place was the Rollercoasters comprised of the Psychology Club and they are pictured left to right– Kierston Brady, Courtney Eads, Yesenia Lopez-Cruz, Sarah Burgin, Gabriella Mandujano, Melissa, Bass, and Yatziri Garcia-Vera. Second place went to Laura Carraway as the White Witch of Narnia and third place was 50’s Frankenstein, Charlie Knowles.

There are prizes for the event and judges offer first, second and third place finishers. For more information about the Student Government Association and what it does at SCC, contact Amanda Raynor at or at. 910-900-4012.
