Viking Spotlight: Mary Johnson

by Anna Blount

Mary Johnson graduated with honors from Clinton High School as part of the Class of 2018. Mary has lived in Turkey, North Carolina her entire life.

She has her own photography company, MJ photography, and works as a lifeguard at Kirtwood pool during the summer. In high school, Mary took twenty-one hours of classes through the CCP Program offered by Sampson Community College to high school Juniors and seniors.

After graduating high school, Mary stayed in Sampson County and is now a part of the nursing program at Sampson. When asked why Mary chose to be a part of the Viking family she responded, “It’s nursing program has a standout reputation and great test scores. I knew other people who had gone through the program and after talking to them I knew that it was something I definitely wanted to be a part of”. Mary will graduate from the program in 2020.

Mary is just one of the many students that call Sampson Community College their home. If you are ready to begin that journey today, contact admissions@sampsoncc.edu or 910.592.8084.
