SCC, NC State Creating Pathways to Success

Many Sampson Community College students completing the Animal Science Program at SCC go straight into the workforce with strong local companies, while others may choose to further their education and transfer to 4 year institutions such as NCSU.   This week,  students from the SCC Applied Animal Science Program had an opportunity to visit NC State University in Raleigh to tour the campus and explore their future goals.  Students were able to meet with faculty and gain a better understanding from Student Ambassadors from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) about campus life on a larger college campus.  One Ambassador, Clinton native and former SCC student Susan Jones, showed students around campus and shared her personal experiences  in transferring from SCC to NCSU.  NSCU faculty advised the SCC students that completing their associate degree in Applied Animal Science would ensure a smoother transition into Ag pathways at the four-year university.
