Each Spring, Sampson Community College Foundation assembles a cross-section of artists, performers, students, volunteers, SCC faculty and staff as well as business and community leaders from throughout Sampson County for a LIVE event like no other! This year, in partnership with Star Communications, the Sampson Showcase LIVE will be taking place on Tuesday, March 14 from 6 until 8pm in the Activities Center on the campus of Sampson Community College and will be airing live on Starvision Ch. 16. Not only is the Sampson Showcase LIVE an opportunity to highlight wonderfully talented local citizens, but it is an opportunity to learn more about the intersection between education, business, fundraising and community and how critically important those relationships are to a thriving Sampson County. This event marks the official kick-off of the spring fundraising season for SCC Foundation.
SCC Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that cultivates community support for Sampson Community College and seeks funding from the private sector to support the college mission. For the 2016-17 academic year, over $100,000 was awarded through over 100 different scholarships to more than ninety deserving students and all of it was possible because of the generosity of people like you. These scholarships help local students, many of whom do not qualify for federal student aid, to pay for tuition and books which in many cases means not having to work two jobs, having extra money for child care, or being able to finish their degree sooner. So your gifts are not only helping in the short term, but are truly an investment in the future of Sampson County.
